Proper brushing is the first step to good oral hygiene. Many people brush their teeth, but don't do it correctly, leaving residue and damaging gums.
The recommended technique is gentle circular motion, starting at the gum line and moving toward the tip of the tooth. Don't use aggressive horizontal movements as they can damage enamel and gums.
1. Choose a soft or medium bristle toothbrush
2. Place the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gum
3. Make gentle circular motions on all surfaces
4. Don't forget the tongue and roof of mouth
5. Brush for at least 2 minutes
Brush your teeth after main meals and before bed. This helps remove food debris and prevents plaque buildup during the night.
